About Dortmund
The former 'steel city' is now a modern, cosmopolitan metropolis, known all over Europe as an innovative location for technological development.  New industries like IT, micro systems technology, and logistics have re-shaped Dortmund's corporate landscape.  The largest city in the Ruhr Valley – with nearly 600,000 inhabitants – Dortmund also boasts extensive green areas and a high quality of life as well as a wide range of cultural and sporting opportunities such as Borussia Dortmund, the local soccer team. However, Dortmund has far more to offer in the line of sport than just football. Dortmund, with its virtuoso concerts, excellent theater and new media art, offers many cultural opportunities.

Courses
TU Dortmund offers a variety courses taught in English includingWillkommen subjects such as business, engineering, film, pop culture, literature, political science, and German and much more.  Exchange students can also choose to take courses at another university in the University Alliance Ruhr and would still have an Academic Advisor at Dortmund.
